DRAGONFLY PLACEMENTS

Dragonfly Placements Ltd is a semi-independent supported housing provider based in central Bournemouth that offers a specialised package of support to young people aged between 16 – 18 years old. We are a specialist provider for young people who have come into the UK unaccompanied from countries across the world.

We offer high quality, nurturing placements for young people, with a professional staff team who provide 24/7 bespoke packages of support. Each young person will have a named key worker who will create a tailored package of support, including goal setting and action plans which will be reviewed regularly.

The Dragonfly team work within a trauma informed practice approach recognising that many of the young people requiring placements are likely to have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and significant trauma. The expectation is that these young people will have had limited exposure to UK customs and culture and may not speak English as a first or second language. It is also recognised that these young people may have been travelling for many months, often in the most severe and brutalising conditions having been exposed to emotional and physical harm during their journey. ​​

At Dragonfly, the staff have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in this field and receive ongoing training to ensure their practice is current, high quality and trauma informed.
